> The explosion blew out windows and doors and wreck store fronts bars and restaurants along with some apartments.

 

> FBI special agent in charge Matt Foster says he and his agents take the explosion personally.

> We live here we work here putting everything we have and defining who was responsible for what's happened.

 

> Police spokesman Don Aaron says officers who arrived at the scene and heard the audio countdown before the explosion saved lives by getting residents to safety.

 

> They heard the announcements coming from this vehicle they took them seriously and were working to seal the streets to protect folks and we think it worked.

 

> We think lives were safe.

> The blast knocked out a t service as far north as Kentucky and 911 police emergency service as far east as Knoxville.

> a 15 year old is dead a 17 year old wounded after a man fired shots into a crowd during an apparent fight between neighbors in Philadelphia just after midnight Christmas morning.

> That's when according to police a 43-year-old man pulled a pistol and shot into the crowd officers then returned fire he and the 15-year-old died at a local hospital.

 

> Investigators say the gun had been reported stolen in virginia two young children are dead two other siblings fighting for their lives with third degree burns a fifth along with their mother are hospitalized after an early morning Christmas house fire in Detroit.
